With Preface, Appendix, full page woodcuts and lithographes, some coloured plates, fold-out charts. Bound in olive green cloth over board with blind embossed ornaments, gilt embossed centre emblem and gilt spine title. Napier's exlibris with family crest on front paste down.
Some very minor foxing, mostly plates and adjacent pages, end papers cracked in gutter but binding o/w intact. Cover shows some wear at edges and corners. A solid, very good, rare original.
