Early classic on slternative medicine. Authentic Culpeper, published during his short life time. The book covers about anything about plants for kitchen or, medicinal properties.and treatment. With a frontispiece wood engraving portrait, Culpeper's Epistolary Dedicatory, Directions, An Alphabetical To The English Names, A Catalogue of the Compounds, A Catalogue of Diseases etc. Later red quarter Morocco with five raised bands and leather corners, over red and orange marbled glossy paper, same as end papers. Gilt spine title an ornaments. Imperial style exlibris inside front cover
Antique writing in ink on verso of frontispiece. Some loss on last page, ca. 15 x 5 cm (Names of several Books printed by Peter Cole, and few numbers of page reference on the verso) Little loss at lower corners of last few pages, few smaller tears and taped tears. A crease in paper across below the middle, diminishing towards the centre. Paper generally age toned. Edges and corners with moderate wear. Otherwise very good and solid, especially considering the age.
