Numbered, limited edition [No. 125] of 200, interesting association copy. Henry McBride, who is the subject of the pamphlet and, whose portrait by Jules Pascin is the frontispiece, dedicated and signed it: 'Dear Miss Sprigge: Please, don't believe every word of this. Henry Mc Bride, New York, Feb. 2. 55.' - Elizabeth Sprigge is a biographer of Gertrude Stein and, translator of Strindber e.a. The biography was published in 1957. See our inventory No. 20602. - Included is a little newspaper clipping of Pascin's portrait of Mc Bride. Stapled signatures wrapped in red flexible board with black title.
Staples rusty, spine was reinforced by apparently archival tape.
